Since My family and I have just about recovered from a Natural Disaster(Hurricane Irene) I have gotten back into the Market for the home system I have been wanting. I'm aiming for 2 Pair of PSB image T6 for fronts and rears or 1 pair of T6/fronts with 1 pair of T5/rears with the psb C5 center. 1 PS XV15 sub maybe even 2 of these baddies. Not sure as of yet. Ive doing a bit of research on a couple of AV receivers and haven't got the crosshairs exactly on either one. I'm interested in either the Yamaha RX-A 3030 or the Pioneer Elite SC-65 or 67. I'm leaning towards the yammy but iv'e been reading all kinds of pros and cons on the ice amps in the Pio. Im not looking to spend more than 2K on a decnt receiver. So the yammy is def a player. Let me know your educated knowledge of these products or any others you think maybe a contender.

Did you consider separates from one of the ID companies, like sherbourne, emotiva, outlaw, ect???

$2000 is a good budget I think I would look into the Denon New Denon AVR 4520CI 9 2CHANNEL 3D 4K Networking A V Receiver Airplay AVR4520CI 883795002578 | eBay for $1600 shipped I don't think you are going to do much better, I had a chance to play with one {using a harmony remote :( } but the thing is insane, tons of power, a decent price $2500 on amazon $1600 on ebay...

The system I heard was the denon with all EMP speakers, they all towers except for the high surrounds and front and rear centers, was too busy for me {Im a 5.1 guy} but it looked fun and sounded good...

In general, it is a good idea to buy something that has the features you need, and then look no further up the receiver line. If you need more power, you should be looking at a receiver with preamp outputs and a separate ąmplifier or more than one ąmplifier.

Yamaha is a good brand, so I don't think you will go wrong in choosing it. Pioneer is also good, so I doubt you are going to be dissatisfied either way. I do recommend buying from an authorized dealer, so that you get the manufacturer's warranty.

Thanks for the info so far. The PSB image T6 Towers are 200 watt speakers... So I don't need massive power to push them. So adding a separate amp for them is overkill at this time for me I think. Im not really to educated on these things with the receivers and amps so i might be wrong to. I was hoping for an receiver with wireless network ability and with power that was a tad more than the speaker because it seems that most manufactures arent true power. NAD seems like a favorite to push the speakers but they are super pricey and im not to sure if they would have the features i want for the money.

New poster here. Question..... My 800 series Onkyo has started clicking each time the DSP readout on the A/V display screen changes, studio mix > stereo> t-d> etc. Very annoying! Any ideas?

200 watts is the maximum power handling capacity of the speaker system. It doesn't matter since you aren't likely to use more than 20 watts per channel. As to the receiver, choose whatever floats your boat. Both are good brands and more than capable of handling what you want.
