Please forgive the newbee type of question since anything related to my question is older than dirt that I can find through the search function.
I am simply looking for an AV/Reciever that I can still see video on the TV should I send the signal to the Receiver through either composite or component. I'm not worried about upscalling for these signals, and any component (bluray,cablebox) I have that could be HDMI I would send through HDMI anyway. I'm talking about seeing the Wii or the like on the tv when I hook it to the receiver through other than HDMI without killing the picture/sound.
I only want to send one cable (HDMI) to the TV.
Want to spend between 250 and 350 bucks. Will the low end onkyo's do this?
PS> only need 5.1 channel
