Anyone have any recommendations for a reasonably priced AV cooler? Additionally, would a laptop cooler work on a receiver if it has a usb port? Ive noticed some laptop coolers say they require Microsoft xp or some version of microsoft to run. Thanks for any input.

What receiver do you have?

Edit: I see you have the Denon AVR-3311Ci

The Denon has a set of 12v 150ma outputs (they are located on the left rear of the receiver. They look like red headphone jacks). You can purchase fans that will run off the 12v trigger. This means that when the receiver is turned on, the fans will come on. I've used PC fans to do this before. Most PC fans are 12v and there are plenty that are 150ma. I just splice the wires with a mono 1/8" adaptor (available at Radioshack) and voila, fans that come on when the receiver does.

This is why I come to this site. You guys have some great ideas. Usually, or it seems to my brief research that the pc fans are much cheaper in price than hometheater AV fans. Seth, that seems like an ingenious resolution. Especially, since it will only run when I turn on the receiver. thanks
