I know this is going to sound ignorant but when it comes to hooking up AV stuff, I have never done it with a decent system. ANyway, I will be hooking up two Klipsch xw500d subs to a denon 3311CI. It looks like the Klipsch have a L/R line level input ONLY. The question is what kind of cable do I need to hook it up to this Denon, which BTW should have two sub inputs, I think (dont have the denon in front of me but its on its way). Just want to get the right cables before it arrives. thanks alot for any input.

It looks like the Denon AVR3310CI only has one sub out. This is not a problem. What you need to do is get a Y-splitter, like this:

Connect the Y-splitter to the sub out, and get some regular male-to-male RCA cables to connect one end to the Y-splitter, and the other end to the Left line input on the back of the sub. That is all there is to it, so all you need is a Y-splitter and two ordinary RCA's, and it shouldn't cost more than $10 (don't buy Monster cables).

Ok. I need some more clarification if possible. So, since the denon 3311 does have two sub outs, do I need to hook a Y splitter to both sub outs and run a dual rca to the subs OR just hook the Y splitter to one sub out and run a single rca cable to one sub and a single rca to the other sub , both coming from the same Y splitter?

OR, do you get a regular rca single jack and one goes in one sub out to the left sub and the other single rca jack from sub out #2 to the right sub? hooking one into L and the other into R? seems more plausible then using a y splitter or am I wrong?

Keep it simple, no splitters necessary, each receiver sub out to each sub's L input.

thanks AVR. I like simple solutions that work.
