Hi, I just registered to ask this simple question:
Is there such a device that will AUTOMATICALLY take multiple optical audio signals and feed them to a SINGLE optical audio input on my AV receiver?
I (like many others, apparently) want to connect the new PS3 and DVD Recorder (which both only have optical connections for surround sound) to my Onkyo AV receiver, that has only a single optical input.
I've seen the cheap "selector switches", that you have to manually operate. I don't want that.
Why can't I seem to find a simple "MANY in, ONE out" type of thing, that's NOT designed for professional audio/video work, with like 16 in and 36 out, costing hundreds of dollars and STILL in the wrong direction? lol
If there's no such a thing, I guess I can stop looking.
Thanks for any light that can be shed on my ignorance.
