Audyssey Microphone

Hello,

I tried setting up my 5.1 speaker system yesterday using the inclosed Audyssey Microphone and really never got passed step 1.

I have an Onkyo TX-SR606.

I have all my components setup with HDMI. I connect the microphone and I get the setup screen on the tv. I position the microphone to spot #1 and press enter on remote. Nothing happens. No test tones. The receiver says something like press enter for next step. If I press enter nothing happens. The remote works for all other functions. Do I have a bad microphone or am I doing something wrong? thanks....

works now

Everything works now. Instead of using the enter button on the remote I hit the enter button on the receiver. It worked....from that point the remote magically worked.

Good to know bneuman. I have found there are a few things on my Onkyo that can only be done from the front panel (firmware check, temp status, reset). I always started the process by using the front of the receiver just because it was convenient when plugging in the mic.

Actually I do notice the remote isn't very responsive on my Onkyo 705.

Of course my receiver is sitting right behind my couch so I can press the buttons pretty easily.
