I have never heard these things but it's interesting enough to share. Woot has Audyssey Media Speakers for $80 (limit 3/pr) plus $5 shipping for the total order to anywhere in the continental US. Note that this is a Woot deal and the price is only good until 10PM Pacific on Friday 10/12 or when they run out - which ever happens first. MSRP is listed at $299. PC Mag Review

These are back for one day only but use the new link below. I still have no idea if they are any good.

I almost almost almost bought these, but it turns out there's a built-in non-defeatable timed-shutoff function. They just turn off after a while with no input and you need to press a button on them to turn them back on.

They call it a "standby" mode, but it's not standby. It's just off.

I did end up getting a pair of these out of curiosity. They are superbly constructed and look fantastic. I'm really underwhelmed by the sound though. They put out impressive bass for their size, and the sound is very detailed and clear, but they feel... constrained. They sound like small speakers. By comparison, my Logitech Z-2300 (with a 2" driver and no tweeter in the speakers) sound much more full and open. Very weird.
