Are audioquest sidewinders good IC's, trying to put together a beginner rig

I'm sure they are good. I know they are way over priced.

I picked up a pair of AQ King Cobra XLR's (.5 meter) for cheap and they didn't do any better or worse than my Monoprice MIC cable and solder style Neutrik XLR's.

The K.C's retail at $299 for .5 meter I believe. My DIY XLR's cost me roughly $7 per cable.

If you are building a starter system, then cables shouldn't be where you spend your money. Speakers are.
