Best CD player I ever heard was a Carver back in the late 80's, it had some rediculous price like 1k (or so I thought at the time). But thats far out of my reach, I'm looking for something under 200-300. I know I cant get anything spectacular, and mabie not even REALLY good, but I'm looking for a decent CD player for what I would call my true first audiophile system, currently I have a NAD 7020 (with junk I have laying around the house hooked up to it), I plan to pair my NAD to Acculine A3's, and after that a CD player (although DVD isnt really needed, thats a bonus if the player you recommend has one). So yeah, I was wondering what some of you folks might recommend?
About 8 years ago I found a 5 disk Yamaha CD player behind a thrift store, everything worked except the programming features, it played fine though. One thing I liked is I felt it sounded exceptionally good, (not as good as a Carver by a long shot, but still pritty good) and dispite the fact it was a free ground score, I really liked it, so I'm leaning torwards a Yamaha.
Thing is, that was 8 years ago, technology has changed, and theres alot out there, so, having said that, what would some of you recommend?
Thanks,
Jeff
