Audiophile Boombox Revisted

I know we've probably all seen the cute photoshop of the "Mark Levi-BOOM". However, I was thinking...what if you DID want to build an audiophile boombox? Here's what I'd do it with:

Custom made titanium frame (strong and light)
Dual 8" JL subwoofers in custom sealed Baltic Birch enclosures mouned into the frame
2 Klipsch RC-10 Centers
2 Yamaha MX-D1 Amps (1 for subs, 1 for mains)
1 APC S-Type Power Conditioner with Extra Battery
Slim CD Player
Slim Preamp

If this boombox thing wouldn't rock your socks off, I don't know what would. Though I am still not sure what to do on the CD player and preamp...

Hmm...anyone else know of a horn-loaded design that's good for taking abuse? Maybe a Cerwin...

I think at the price this audiophile boombox is going to cost me, I would rather sacrifice the portability and buy a mid level 2 channel stereo rig, and use the money that is left over to buy an IPOD for portable use. But that's just me.
