I will be following this thread closely as my HT in the basement is almost identical in terms of the shape as yours Gene.. The right front speaker has all that nice open space and the left one is jammed in a corner.... you dont mind if I steal a few ideas?????:)

Dear Gene,

I may be reading the dimensions wrong but it looks like a square room at approximately 28'. That has got to be a challenge any sane person would call an expert for.

I am sure they will have you grinning ear to ear when it is all done.

Just curious. What is the ceiling height?

It is actually an L shaped room since the bottom right portion is my closed in office which measures roughly 10' x 8'.

Thus the theater portion of the room is 28' long by 15.7' wide. The seated area is 15.7' wide by 10' deep.

The right front speaker will be about 12' off the right wall while the left front speaker will only be 2-3' off the left wall. So yes, it was a challenge to acoustically balance the resultant image shift.

The ceiling height is 8'.

By all means, this is why we write this stuff :)

Interestingly enough......
I sent a detailed drawing of my HT to Auralex, along with completing their online form while asking for direction.

They never bothered to respond...........

In hindsight, ******** I ended up purchasing 10 GIK-244 panels.
The fact that they never responded to my request still amazes me. I have money burning in my pocket, and I'm not worthy of a response? Was my handwriting not neat enough?

I just dont get it.......?
That kind of stuff really burns me because I have money to spend for those who will take care of me.

[ADMIN] no need to bash a manufacturer, perhaps they never got your email. Don't make false assumptions, perhaps next time pick up a phone

We will also show step by step instructions on how to construct a theater chair riser which will serve as a bass trap and natural resonator to increase tactile response.
I look forward to reading about it. What a great idea; effective and out of sight.

They never did respond to mine either after several attempts so it is not just you.

I love the oval speakers. :D

It's funny how the picture on the TV is more realistic then the pitcure of the room. :D

I already built that. Now all I need is more money for Insulation.

I love the oval speakers.
Those are placeholders for the new Status Acoustics Titus speakers which are currently not being produced. Thus I switched over to the new T30-LSE system instead.

Yes, we know EXACTLY what you're thinking... lol.

We'll talk to Auralex about the email issue - it's something they should pay attention to since it looks to not be an isolated event.
