Are those RPG diffusers and do you have them on the back or side walls, too? Do you have graphs of before and after installation?

I'd love to see what's available but I don't think I could afford any of it :D

All of the acoustical treatment in my room is from Auralex. Unfortunately all of the measurement data that was taken pre/post installation was lost. I am changing out my carpets for laminate flooring to help liven up the room a bit and plan on taking before and after measurements to determine the effect.

Auralex makes diffusers? I did not know that.

Since you'll be replacing equipment and may be looking at potential candidates, is there any chance of checking out the Lexicon MC-12HDB? They dropped the price by about $3K and it's now able to do TrueHD audio.

That should be interesting....

I don't really prefer a totally dead room and would love to hear your thoughts on the changes... Obviously too lively is not the greatest scenario either....

It'll be nice to see some measurements as well....

I've taken lots of measurements with carpet and just beginning to do the same with the wood flooring. I was shocked to hear the bass change so drastically. I found that since my theater room is on the 2nd floor, the carpet was acting like a flexible membrane as opposed to the stiffer wood floor which seems to be exciting the problematic room modes more. I had to reposition 1 of my subs 2 feet and really tweak it out to get the system to sound good and free of boom. I put a large throw rug at the first reflection point and plan on putting a smaller additional one under my drum kit to help reduce the now added slap echo in the right front corner of my room.

Overall the stereo image is wider and the room sounds more natural. Despite the few setbacks, I am confident I am moving in the right direction.

Does your room have constrained layer damping on any of the walls?
