I want to thank everyone on the Audioholics staff for making this possible, as well as, the members who contributed their guidance. I could not have done it without you.

Audioholics is a GREAT site and forum. It is hard to get credible reviews and knowledgeable readers who know what they are talking about and it is greatly appreciated!!

Congrats! That's great. I wonder how surprised you (or your wife) were at that "tally" at the bottom? Funny how it all adds up doesn't it? Did you take the pics or did they send someone out?

I really did not want to include numbers in the artice but they insisted. We had a good handle on the final numbers because I did set down an initial budget. What really hurt was that 1/4 of the budget was strictly for light control. Think about that for a moment:eek: What those numbers do not show is what it would have cost for labor if we had paid a contractor to do all the work. It could easily have doubled.

I sure wanted dedicated amps but that will have to wait until the remodeling of the rest of the house is complete.

And, yes, I took all the photos! To be honest, I am not sure what they did but I think my original photos in my signature look better than the ones they "doctored" and selected for the publication! You will also find more updated photos there that include the attached kitchen which is also almost complete.

Thanks for taking the time to show your appreciation!!!

Very nice indeed. Seems to me like you made kinda of a odd (for lack of a better word) romm for a HT work very well. Just goes to show you dont HAVE to have a dedicated HT room to have a bad *** HT.

Congrats,
Sean

Nice! It's a nice looking room for sure.
Clint,

You and your cohorts had more of an influence on our home theater than you can first imagine. If you quickly skim my equipment list, you will find that almost all of the AV equipment has been reviewed by Audioholics and gotten your seal of approval. From the projector and receiver to the Next Generation RF Hub and Tripp Lite Isobar. All of them have worked as described in your articles and were excellent values with great price/performance ratios.

If your sponsors EVER question whether or not their money is paying dividends, I would be the first to attest that it has.

Keep up the good work and thanks for taking time to comment.

Sean,

You are not the first to make comments along this line. Most have been from readers living up North with basements. Us southern folk have no such luxury living so close to sea level.

I could have used one of the bedrooms but most were small and/or square in proportion. I ran some acoustic software on the rooms available and the family room only had one overlaping room mode at 125Hz and the high ceilings made the space more conducive to good audio which was my priority (we are Audioholics here, right?)

Believe me, a dedicated room would have saved me a LOT of money!!! Light control ate my lunch. I am not as resentful of this fact now after our electricity bill dropped over $500.00 for the year already but you get the idea.

I am almost finished with a four piece contemporary painting that will cover the screen when not in use. It will just look like a piece of custom art work when I am done and will fold open when it is time to fire up the projector. I hope to have photos of this project by the end of the month. I have made the frames and stretched the canvas and am now trying to come up with a design that I can tackle and colors that will coordinate the rest of the room. If any of you have some photos or ideas, please pass them on!!!

Thanks for taking time to comment. It makes all the hard work seem more worthwhile when you hear it from people whos informed opinions you respect.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I would have gotten back to you sooner but it seems that I am no longer getting instant email notification any more:(

Audioholics does not seem to be the only site that is changing things around and I have been struggling to get everything back in order on the S&V website, as well. I was wondering why my email had thinned out considerably!!!

Sheep, I guess when you sell all your equipment and donate the proceeds to me, I might be able to affort another sub equal to the one I have. Let me know when you get everything posted on eBay and I will start to make the necessary room. I can't wait!!!! Until then, my wife has asked that I finish some other projects around the house.;) Thanks for the kind words!:)
