I was thinking about all the research I've done for various products, including my latest foray into upgrading my A/V system.

This sparked a thought. As tremendously helpful as this site is, a listing of Audio/Video terms along with relevant abbreviations, definitions and a layman's explanation of each one's practical application would be amazing.

There are tons of terms so, I'm not sure if this would be best covered by a thorough stickied topic or a new section of the site.

Well looky dere.... Oops.

Yeah, the term that really tipped this off was "crosstalk". It's rated in decibels and from what I've gathered, the higher the better. Kinda like the efficiency rating for speakers? However, I have no idea what that means and don't see it on the list.
Crosstalk basically refers to the point where an amplifier begins to relay sound from other channels (so yes, the higher the better). In other words and for example, you have your center channel and you've bumped your receiver up to within 5% of max volume and you begin to hear sounds that should be coming out of your mains coming out of the center channel. So on and so forth down the line.

The phenomenon that causes crosstalk is called electromagnetic interference (EMI).
