Hi- I am looking to replace a buckling Ikea entertainment center with something a lot more substantial. The only hitch is that it's gotta be wife friendly. She likes the looks of the Salamander Synergy system, as do I, so I am wondering if anyone would reccomend this line of racks or something different from their own experience.
I've got to accomidate about 33" inches (about 40" vented) of audio commponents and a big 32" Sony faltscreen tube TV (about 35"x24").
Any help? Thanks- Rob

I haven't found a great deal of discussion on the topic of racks. Some reviews, but hardly any discussions.

I'll be darned; the site does indeed seem to have gone kaput.

Anyway, the "Flexy" is simplicity itself: three (or four) heavy threaded rods (I used 5/8") with shelves held by hexnuts and washers. Three legs is easier to level and sufficiently strong. Don't know about the WAF as it's kind of industrial looking IMO, but I built one & like it. See my Website for pix. Should be self explanatory. Alas, the cool green stonelook material I used, a type of MDF, is not easily available to DIYers. It's called "Environ". (If anyone knows of a distributor that sells small quantities instead of pallet loads tell me! It would make kicka$$ speaker cabinets!) I used to get it when I was in the sign biz.

In store bought stands Bell'o makes handsome modern units.

I just checked this address. www.tnt-audio.com Sorry I got it wrong the first time. BTW a while back I saw someone on e-bay selling a flexy rack with shelves made of granite (4) for $1000!!! That price is correct:cool:

I have been very happy with a stand I purchased from Diamond Case Designs www.diamondcase.com. Its the TT-100 model. Very well made, solid maple, good ventelation, decent storage. Give it a look. It comes assembled on casters. Heavy and solid. My wife loves it. Good Luck!
