audio/video hookup question

Hi,
I want to hookup my HDTV to my blu ray player with HDMI so I get the 1080p picture. But, my receiver doesn't support HDMI(only digital audio or composite). Is it possible to use HDMI for the video and composite(RCA) for the sound? Other words, I want to hook up my Blu ray player to my TV using HDMI for the video, then hook the composite/rca cables from the blu ray player to my receiver for the sound... will this work?
If the models of the equipment helps, they're pasted below:
Blu ray player: Samsung BD-C5500
TV: Samsung PN50C550
Receiver: Panasonic SA-HE7
Thanks!

Pretty much all blu-ray players should be able to do this. I have my BD-60 hooked up in stereo to my integrated amp and HDMI to the TV and it works fine.

If the player doesn't have internal decoding and mutlichannel analog outs then you would probalby want to use coaxial or optical digital to your receiver to at least get 5.1 sound.
