Audio "skips", power problem?

I don't know if this is the right forum to post this or not, but I thought it might be a power issue. When listening to my Marantz SR5000, I'll get intermittent audio skips. The audio will just cut out for a split second and then come back on. The amp doesn't click off or anything like that. My initial thought was the receiver was bad. So, after 3-4 different trips to the be repaired, it's been totally rebuilt with a brand new mother board and everything. So, I've ruled out the receiver. I'm also running quality Blue Jeans cabling for all of my interconnects.

I'm wondering if it's some sort of power surge that is making it cut out. I've got all of my equipment plugged into TrippLite Isobars so there is some conditioning going on there, but it's nothing like a Monster Power Center or anything like that. I currently don't have a dedicated circuit for my home theater either. It's not like I'm living next to high tension wires or anything either. It's 3-year-old house with modern wiring and everything.

I used to get the problem when watching DVDs and digital/HD cable, but since rebuilding the receiver, I've really only heard it when watching digital/HD cable. I suppose it could be the cable signal as well. Both sources are connected to the receiver via digital coax.

I just wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone has experienced anything similar or can direct me in the right direction to get this fixed. It's kind of driving me crazy.

Thanks

These kind of skips are usually the source loosing signal for that time, not power, wire or the component.

It is unlikely that power is the problem. Since it happens when watching digital cable I would suspect your cable box or the signal itself.

What kind of digital coaxial cable are you using? It is definitely not a power problem.
