I'm a super noob at this, but my friend gave me a Integra 6.2 reciever with a 5.1 speaker set up. My issue is that I can ONLY GET STEREO SOUND AND ONLY OUT OF THE LEFT AND RIGHT SPEAKERS. My sub simply will not channel anything through it.

We have all the speakers connected properly.
We have the sub connected to the deticated RCA output on the reciever and into the proper intput as labeled by the sub instructions.

All inputs from the cable box, xbox, etc, are plugged into the corresponding rca connections.

However the only optiion that works is stereo DIRECT. and only plays through the L/R speakers and no sub. all other options do not work.

Can anyone shead some light on this for me? thanks so much!!

Also just a follow up, when I do a test speaker option to hear that 'static' noise sound to test the speakers, none of them make sound...

another follow up, just to clarify.
when plugging anything into the rca white and red spots. the reciever will ONLY work and produce audio in DIRECT mode.

it will not produce audio in any other mode at all. all surround options do not work.

i am at a loss. can anyone help!

bandphan,

i know that, we have done that. like i said, the system only works in DIRECT mode, no other modes produce any sound. Once I change from DIRECT to any other setting (stereo, any 5.1 options) none produce ANY audio at all.

Any idea?

Did you look into the system setup to see if your other speakers are showing? Inputs setup correctly? Did you do a system reset?

yes i did and everythign has been factory reset multiple times. we cotacted a stereo place and they said that our DSP chip may be bad. causing the 5.1 options to totally not work at all.
