Feh. Nothing is sexier than MBL electronics. If I had this stuff, and some 101E Radialstrahlers, I'd never ever leave my house.

Why are you looking at this site? Why did you open this thread? Why do you have an audio system? Why do you think you are so tough? Why Why Why

It's a Butler TDB5150, an output-transformerless 150 x 5 ch tube amp. It runs so cool you can leave it on 24/7, according to reports. I think it's simply beautiful, myself. It actually verges on affordability, with street prices well under $2500.

I've been drooling over it and its smaller sibling, the 3 CH x 150 Watt TDB3150.

...I asked a question(as I oftimes do) and Mr. Babcock was kind enough to respond...did the "WTF" get your skivvies in a bunch? I've seen worse on these forums, get over it.

Ahh, yes tubes...Well, at least you can rest assured your rig will still run in the aftermath of an EMP event(tongue placed firmly in cheek)...I recall many a trip in the Studebaker to the local appliance store(I think it was Davega's...maybe Friendly Frost's) with my dad...a brown bag filled with 'em...Flipping through the charts, identifying the proper test socket and buying the appropriate replacement(s) when the meter's verdict was "BAD". The old DuMont or RCA or Zenith was back up and running in practically no time...most of the time. What fun!

Coveted or not, it still reminds me of the back of a microwave and it's about as stimulating.

jimHJJ(...actually, it's more like an old WE bay mounted unit sans the "ears"...)
