Hi Everyone,

Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to read my post!

I have a sister and she really likes dub step music... She likes the beats and bass of the music.

I wanted to get her a good portable system that would have a little more clarity and bass then a standard ipod earbuds.

I have heard of portable amps and headphone combination's and stuff, but I a total noob to all this stuff.

Can any one here point me in the right direction, or make a recommendation.

Thank you

If you are talking about a portable system with speakers this is not possible, but with headphones it is.

headfi.org is really the best place to ask for that. Their collective knowledge of headphones is better than anywhere else on the internet, by far. If you want to wow your sister, have her listen to some dubstep on some proper subwoofers, she will throw away her ear buds after that.

Head-Fi is riddled with snake oil and other nonsense.

In some respects I think it is, but for most people its a pretty good source of information. If you are just asking for headphones with good bass within a budget, they can give you some good suggestions.

Head-fi answer 1:

"I recommend a pair of grados, but use a tube and then to get bass out of them use a dedicated amp with +5 bass boost... it's all about the synergy...man. And make sure to burn them in and use $300 silver .5ft wire in order to get rid of the sibilance. I recommend pink noise to burn them in too"

Head-fi answer 2:

"No, burn them in with music, man. Otherwise they'll evolve into the wrong headphones for your music"
