Audio from one source, video from another...

Hi all.
I have a STR DB1070 receiver, a CD player (connected by phono leads) and a PS2 (connected by Optical audio lead, S-Video video lead).
Is it possible to split the signals so that I can play a game on the PS2 and have the 1070 do the video switching to my TV (connected by S-Video) and at the same time have the 1070 play the audio from a CD.
Basically sports games don't usually need the sound most of the time and I'd rather listen to my own music.
A friend of mine has a crappy AV receiver that can do it so if his can, why can't mine?
I've tried the 'Audio Split' options and the 'Input Mode' options but no success so far.

Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with that particular receiver (Is it a Sony?) but most receivers nowadays work the same way.

If the PS2 is connected to one of the receiver's video inputs, the cd player connected to an audio input, and the receiver's monitor out (video) connected to the tv, then you can accomplish what you want simply by selecting the video input first and then the cd input. The video source will not change when you select an audio only input.
