Audio from multiple sources heard at same time

Hi,

I have a simple 20" Philips flat screen in the office at my house.
I have a DVR cable box hooked up to the side AV panel, and an Xbox 360 hooked up via the TV's rear Component inputs.

All cables are properly connected.

Well, when I have both turned on, I hear both audio sources together on both the AV side and CV1 input channels on the TV.

Also, the sound from the cable box is greatly reduced w/ the CV cables in place.

Any idea as to what's going on? Bad tv altogether?

The same thing happens when I try hooking the DVR box up via an S-Video connection.

What happens if you hook the 360 into the aux jacks on the DVR box? Also have you tried unplugging everything and adding one device at a time...ie process of elimination?

DVR audio AND video connected to the side inputs?
XBox using component video but what audio?

Some TVs share audio and video inputs and on the surface at least that sounds like what is going on here - maybe the side inputs are shared with video 1 or whatever the input to which the XBox is connected is labeled.
