Hi guys I'm having a huge problem with audio dropouts. I'm using a Samsung 55 inch 6500 series tv. With Yamaha ysp1600 sound bar. When using the Netflix and plex apps I get consistent audio dropouts. I'm a newbie and I'm stumped. Can you help

Also have you looked at your network profile if using wifi

Seriously, I have no life.
You also need to check the TVs audio out, how it is set up.
Samsung may know how to set it up.

So the video plays fine, you just lose audio altogether or intermittently? Specifics on connections would be good....

The soundbar is wired through arc and optical. The video plays perfectly. It only happens with the plex and Netflix apps on my TV. If I play through Xbox, blue ray or sky it's perfect. Also if I play Netflix through the Xbox app it's also perfect.

Completely stumped

You have the TV connected both by ARC and optical?

Ah, ok. Wouldn't think it would change anything, but worth a try...was more curious why both. I never got great performance from tv based apps, and in my case lacked multich audio as well, haven't used my tv based apps in a long time...

Sounds like a HDMI handshaking issue. Have you tried switching to a different input (say, broadcast antennae; doesn't matter if you actually have an antennae) for five seconds or so, then back to your desired input?

Symptom of a handshaking issue is audio mostly works but you get periodic brief dropouts with no sound.
