I have noticed that on my HD movie channels that the audio is ahead of the picture. I have been playing with the audio delay on my receiver (Yamaha RXV2500) and cannot seem to rectify the issue. All the other channels seem fine except for the 2 HD movie channels on Bell (Ch 841 and 842 West). It is pretty annoying.... Any tips from the experts?

I have the same problem intermittently on Dish Network with certain channels. I've also tried to fix this with my receivers audio delay functions, but it doesn't work. I've heard that it originates in the HDMI function, but I'm not sure. Incidentally, if you drink a couple of glasses of pinot noir , it's not nearly as noticeable.;)

Audio "lip sync" feature

The audio delay on most receivers is in the 100-200 millisecond range. This is more than enough to account for several frames of delay due to your HDTV's video processing circuitry. If this delay is not adequate, it is a problem with the way the cable company is transmitting the HD channels, give them a call.

Audio Alchemy makes a digital delay line with up to 1 second delay, but it is pretty expensive for one feature:
