Audio Delay in Digital Audio

I have a 360, an HD-DVD player, and an HD-DVR all plugged into my Toshiba 65" Projection TV via HDMI cables, and from there to my LG Home Theater System via an optical audio cable. However even with any one compnent directly connected to my home theater system, within 1/2 hour to 1 hour's time, there is about a 1/2 second delay from when I see an event on tv, to hearing the event on the HTS. switching inputs and switching back, or trning system off and back on both fix the problem, but are very annoying to have to do at least 4 times during a movie. I am very new to HTS, and have no idea how to fix. Could someone please help?

My receiver does not have time delay problems, although there is an adjustment switch for that. I think there is a problem in your receiver.

People will need you to be a little more specific in your system's description.

You get the same problem with everything routed to the receiver first, then to the TV?

I have heard of people having this issue with HDMI and the HDCP before. Unfortunately, you will probably have to eliminate the HDMI connections (go with component and optical for example) or try a different AVR directly connected to the HDMI connections to see if that works any better. Sounds like it could be the issue to me. More details might help as well.

I don't have audio synch problems, but maybe its the way I have the connections hooked up. I run HDMI directly from the satelite, DVD player and PS3 through an HDMI selector to the TV. I have optical (toslink) running from the sources directly to the receiver. I just turn the TV volume down when I want to listen to the receiver. Hope this helps.

I Have tried most of those things.

I have a Microsoft Xbox 360, A Toshoba A30 HD-DVD, and a toshiba 65hm167 tv. Hy Home theater system is a LG Home theater in a box. I have had other Home theater systems do this same rpblem so I din't think it is the Box specifically. No matter if I have all sources routed to tv vie HDMI then to Home THeatre Vi optical audio Cable, or one component via optical audio cable there progressivelt becomes a sound delay of up to 1/2 second form seeing in on the screen, and haring it. Please help, or tell me what more info you need. Thank you

Let your AV receiver do its job. Plug all system components into the receiver, including your TV. Good luck.

I have done this, I have directly connected every piece of av equipment to HTS directly, and through tv, andh bot resort in at least a 1/2 second delay in sound through home theater system, and with two different home theater systems? What now?

Good Luck

Multiple receivers, same problem… Hmm. If you don’t have unusually long cables, or defective cables, I’d try unplugging everything but the TV and the AVR. Test. If there is a problem with the time synch, manually setup the audio delay in your AVR. (mine is set for 6 MS) Just play with the setting.

If there is no problem with the time synch, add one component at a time to the receiver until you find the culprit.
