Audio cuts out when there isn't a constant source of sound coming from my PC

And when the receiver begins to receive audio again it takes a couple seconds to "activate" again.

I'm using an AVR 254 receiver with a 5 channel setup and the whole thing is hooked up to my PC via an HDMI cable.

I have no idea how to fix this and the manual doesn't seem to have a fix either.

This happens with other hdmi sources on the same avr input?

Yup. Got my PS4 hooked up to and have the same issue.

Did you do a soft reset of the avr (unplugging it for a while)? If you did that and no effect, does it have a full microprocessor/factory reset you can do?
