I have the AS-f2.2 speakers matched with the c1.2 center channel. As so many have noted in this forum, and i also atest to, the c1.2 under performs when matched with these mains. I called today and inquired about the next best option for a center channel and the response was the psb image c40 or c60. anyone have success matching either one of these center channels up with the as-f2.2? if not, are there any recommendations out there. i hate to run a mismatched system but the c1.2 just doesn't get the job done. any help is appreciated.

If you have room for a bookshelf speaker, the AS-B2 (or even the B1) would work fine. When I was running Athena's I replaced the AS-C1 with an AS-B2 with good results.

I found the C1 to be ok if you were sitting directly in front of it. Sitting anywhere off to the sides of center (off-axis seating) resulted in problems understanding dialog (a "lobing" issue). The AS-B2 was much better in this respect.
