So...I got a proper tri-pod, as the first time I ran it, it sounded bad, so I figured I'd do a proper setup and get a tripod.

Did that, followed all the guides...

Ran it properly this time.

Rear & Front Surrounds - 200HZ

Center - 150HZ

-10dB on all the speakers or so.

Rear Surrounds - Out of Phase, even though I tried reversing the polarities, guess it's just one of those things...

Uh, this is weird.

Audessy just disappeared from the front off the Receiver and I don't see an option in the menu to turn it back on?

Been a lot of Audyssey talk lately. I'll offer the same advice that's based on my own experience, and now the similar experiences of at least a few other people :) :

First, set your volume dial to "0 (zero) dB". I know you're not supposed to have to. I know there's no mention of needing to do this in any manual. But I also know that - for whatever weird reason - doing so seems to work and seems to "fix" a lot of incorrect readings that people are getting when they do not set the volume dial to "reference volume" at 0dB beforehand.

Once Audyssey has run, you typically have the option to check and adjust the settings that Audyssey has made. Check the EQ setting and use the "Flat" setting, which is sometimes also called the "Music" setting. That'll give you flat frequency response from the Audyssey EQ, rather than the "Audyssey Reference Curve", which has a high frequency roll off, a 2kHz notch filter and a midbass bump.

If you don't have any EQ curve options, you can still "trick" Audyssey into giving you the "Flat" EQ if you have THX Listening modes available. Just use any THX Listening mode, but manually turn off "Re-EQ". Re-EQ is THX's own high frequency roll off curve, so any receiver that has both Audyssey and THX automatically uses the "Flat" Audyssey setting whenever you use a THX Listening mode so as not to muck up Re-EQ. The only problem with this "trick" is that THX Re-EQ turns back on every time you cycle the power on your receiver! So there's no way to make Re-EQ default to "off". But it's just a single button push to toggle it off every time. So it's a slight hassle, but not the end of the world :)
