Hi all, in my quest for a new receiver I'm down to the Denon AVR-1912 vs Denon AVR-2112 CI. Apart from the few in/outs that separate the CI, the major difference seems to be Auddyssey Multeq XT over plain Multeq in the 1912.

For $50 more would you go for the CI or is the XT not a big deal?

It is surprising that the less expensive AVR-1712 has MultEQ XT but the 1912 doesn't!

But the 1912 has video processing and the 1712 does not. One for the audio centric and one for the person who needs more video features. There essentially the same receiver. :)

Thanks everybody for the responses. Unfortunately, turns out after re-measuring the Denon line won't fit in my AV cabinet. Airplay is a must, so at this point I'm looking at Pioneer since Marantz is also too deep for the cabinet.

Right now I'm looking at:
VSX-51 Elite
VSX-42 Elite

The 2112 has both. I for one appreciate that they had the 1712 with MultEQ XT but no video processing. Saved me several hundred dollars, since I didn't need video processing. All other manufacturers seem to include video processing first and then better audio features, requiring you to buy the video chips even if you don't need them.
