Greetings:

I love this site !

A friend GIVES me a SHARP 10'' color TV monitor (and no, it's not hot). The idea is to place it upstairs in our humble but friendly kitchen ('cause it's cool).

The question:

What type of cableing do I use to feed Cable TV and DVD already hooked up downstairs on the other side of the house.
The DVD already has Component OUT to the downstairs TV but still has an available S-video port for outbound data. Am I able to take advantage of the s-video and Component out simultaneously. (I dont want to test it on my own stuff in case I goof something up, just look at my typing...)

That S-video cable is really gonna have to be long right?

Any sane, safe advise would be appreciated.

You can run SVHS for a long run. It's a 10" kitchen TV, so you don't exactly have to worry about signal degredation (unless you're running it around your house for a 200' run!)

You'll need to run RCA(s) for audio as well. As for the cable, you may want to either use a local switch or run a leg of F-cable to the monitor for the cable connection.
