Atmospheric Cyclone River Bomb

Live-ish from The Bay, Trick.
Two power outages and counting…
PG&E sucks.
We had some crazy wind this morning. Some hoops in our garden look like they got hit with an atmospheric freight train.
Local flooding is definitely occurring, but the creek that our immediate watershed is named for has not become a river. Yet.
Mostly, clogged culverts causing what I deem “diversion flooding” as the ditches overflow onto the road.
Nothing Biblical yet, but it resumed raining last night after a pause for most of yesterday… but since resuming last night around 7, it has been oppressively steady.
The cat’s are going crazy.
The Lady is crazy.
I’m bored.
No TV. Internet is spotty.
I’m typing this in hopes I may actually be able to send it.
Dunno if I’ll need a boat tomorrow or not.

*blows kiss

Thought this thread was about a new drink or something. Who can tell anymore, what with all the s#%tstorms in Cali these days. Stay safe and warm.

A Double Bomb is supposed to hit Metro Vancouver overnight with localized Flooding and possible power outages and up to 60 mile an hour winds near the ocean and on Vancouver Island. It's the "heart" of the system hitting the west cost. Certainly made a mess of Sunday Night Football. Hopefully we'll get lucky and the Weather Folks are wrong.

We lost power twice more last night… the second time took cable/internet down with it and lasted through the night.
That little Honda generator got a workout. Ended up finally just leaving it on all night to keep our fridge alive.
I need to try finding the precipitation totals for this week…

Wasn't too bad here, plenty of rain with some wind but nothing like others over towards the coast seem to have got hit with....

I haven't lost power, but we got a LOT of rain last night about the time I was driving home from Dune. Massive standing water and slow going, but I have AWD :D

One town got 10.5" of rain in 24hrs! Though not considered a hurricane, it is classified as a category 5 storm.

The Double Bomb that was supposed to hit Metro Vancouver overnight seems to be a bit of a Dud => at least here a mile off Burrard Inlet. We saw rain (not unusual for this time of year) but didn't notice any big winds. The local news reported gusts to 60 mile an hour in some locations on the ocean but I heard of no damage or significant power outages.

I guess the press was just hyping it up, or the meteorologists (as usual) can't predict with better than a 50/50 accuracy. Oh well, the result is better for all anyway.

Mt. Tam got 16.5" of rain.
It's looking like my area took about 10"+ between Saturday evening (7pm) and Monday morning (7am). I can't find any records of our winds and gusts.
Considering our drought, the ground is uber saturated up top... something tells me if I tried digging, it would still be hard as a rock 3-4" down.

Yep, they said despite record rain, it won't put a dent in the drought.
