In the little I've learned on what feels like being ripped off paying additional for Atmos AVR do you believe calculating the setup would be very beneficial? For example if I used Atmos enabled speakers in front opposed to speakers in the ceiling like in the back. Feel if I did calculations of where the speaker would reflect off the ceiling to reach the listening position opposed to the 20 degree angle used on every model that I've seen that the results would be consistent, if not better. Get a sense it needs the element that Auddessy, AccuEQ, etc bring as every room and ear are different. That it's so sensitive ear type is now a factor in quality. Say who now? First true home audio/theater system and was trying to purchase quality AVR, while also considering future products with features like 4K, but including Atmos in the same light, or any other feels like a bust. The marketing spin I'm keen enough to avoid majority of time won and should simply admit, You got me.
Have yet to double down on getting duped by not purchasing any speakers. If they ever released a quality DVD in it would you or have you tried the Atmos configuration in your home? Assumed they would sell an overpriced software program that would allow conversion of hour library to Atmos based on logic. Not a handful of releases through next year on bad movies like Transformers skipping what I felt was one of the better movies in years in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Any of you really enjoy your Atmos on the limited content available? Do the non Atmos movies bring the 3D effects without hurting overall quality of audio?
