Before I review I would like to say that I’d consider myself an audioholic noob that’s is basing the review on experience with my past 2 subs an Onkyo sub that came in a htib and a Velodyne Vrp-1200. I don’t have fancy test equipment so this review is totally subjective. The subwoofer is heavy with its box it weighs in at 80 pounds!

The sub was well packaged I was impressed at how Atlantic Technology protected their products with layers of sterofoam.

The two cross styrofoam things you see on the pic were stacked on the top of the sub and the bottom of the sub.
When I had the sub in my room 10 by 10 by 9 (excluding closet which is about 3ft deep and ft wide but it has no doors so it would it would count as part of room space.) which is really really small so small that some rich people would probably consider it a size of a closet.
Let me tell the bass in the room was ridicules the way I like it!

It was unprecedented bass that I never had in my room it actually felt like I was in the movie theater I felt bass, it was great. One of my memorable lfe effect was the matrix the scene where Neo is dogging bullets in this scene you can feel the bass in your chest when the bullets are flying the alantic sub did a good job of performing that tough LFE effect because the scene is lengthy with bass and as the bullets get closer to Neo the scene goes to super slow motion and the sub convincingly makesthe bullets sound like a jet engine and it just adds the realism and dramatic touch. Again this sub awesome in small rooms but when I put in my living room which is about twice the size of mybedroom 20 by 20 with a 9 ft ceiling all that gut wrenching bass goes away you still sounds good but you lose that chest pounding sensation that I had in my room.

The Atlantic technology sub has a Suspension design and according to annunaki who posted this thread http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37001 “This refers to the sub driver's surround and spider which 'suspend' the cone & voice coil assembly in the magnetic gap” and I can why the suspension design has noticeable effect when the sub is digging in the lower frequencies, it pounds hard with out noticeable distress or distortion compared to my velodyne the sub would flop when there would be a sudden fast bass effect in a movie.
I notice the cone responds really fast I listened to various songs where the tempo of the beat gradually increases and the sub keeps up with out losing it accuracy. The Atlantic Sub is well built the sealed box, amp and driver all seem to work in harmony. I say this because you would think 300 watts would not be enough to shake things up but it does!(technically it would more like 270 watts rms At the minimum considering class d amps 90%greater than or equal to in efficiency.) I’m happy to say that im satisfied with sub considering the price which was $440 (thanks to Intheindustry) I would not pay more 450 for the sub I would of got the SVS NSD 12 if had the extra 60 but I think this sub is perfect for a $440 sub.
