I've listened to the Sibs, and they sound good. Is it possible for them to produce better sound with less cabinet volume? Looking for advise on speakers in this price range.

I think for the price, the Athena's are a tremendous value. I used them for quite sometime in my living room and with a good sub, they are a very good small speaker with big sound.

The Focal Sib's don't sound too bad as far as good looking slim flat panel speakers are concerned. I do feel they are way over priced. I looked at a set of 5 sib XL's with 2 pairs of stands using my own sub and the price was unreal.

I ended up with Focal's, just the Chrous 800v line for slightly more money but 10x the performance

What other speakers did you audition?
Lots,

If looking for slim lifestyle speakers, B&W VM1's , Monitor Audio Radius, and and the KEF 3005's offer far better bang for the buck than the Focal sib/cub in my opinion. For me, I couldnt settle with the comprimised perfomance of a sub/sat combo.

Compromise is part of having small children. I don't want my speakers at floor level.
