Assistance with Speakers

Hey folks!

I am in the process of upgrading my speakers and I am torn as to which speakers to go with. I am currently running a 7.1 surround with a Klipsch Reference set up. My receiver is a Pioneer Elite VSX 92THX powering RB 41I's (FL FR SBL SBR) RC 42 II (center) and the RS 41 II Surrounds w SUB. The room is 30x20 and the front speakers are ~18 feet apart. I recently saw the relatively new Martin Logan Motion 15's (FL FR SBL SBR) Motion FX (SL SR) and the Motion 30 for Center and really liked them. My question is, how significant of an upgrade would this be? Your input is very much appreciated.

Thanks- Mark

It wouldn't look at a change like this as either an upgrade or a downgrade, more of a change in direction.

Since you've heard both, you should be aware of the obvious significant nature of their overall texture. If this is the sound you prefer, then by all means go for it.

Thanks Mark, so in your honest opinion the Motion15's are not as much as an upgrade as the price suggests? 2 and a half times the price.

No, that's NOT what I'm saying. What you're asking is like asking if chicken is an upgrade from fish.

Both good, but different. Which do you prefer?

You said you saw them - have you ever listened to them?

Thanks guys, Great Analogy Mark! I actually listened to them and was blown away. While the bottoms were not as full, The sound of the mid's and highs were far superior to those of the B&W's (the only ones I could compare them to at the time). And at the same volume level, the Motion 15's were noticeably louder. There is not much out there since these speakers are relatively new, your input is greatly appreciated.

Well if you really like them, and they moved you - then why are you concerned?
