Truth be told, I have purchased both of these speakers already. I will pick up the Sierras on Wednesday and the Triangles will be delivered Thursday.
I originally ordered the BR08s on black Friday sale marked down to 800/pair from 1400/pair. I heard great reviews of the BR03 previously. The hope was that these floor standers might fill my large room better than my Infinity R162s. I then decided to buy a pair of the Sierra 1s, currently on sale for 680/pair in espresso finish.
A couple days after buying the Triangles I started getting buyer's remorse. Wondering if I'm making a lateral move quality wise, but just getting bigger speakers. I was interested in Ascend because of the reputation for being neutral, accurate, and non fatiguing. I emailed Ascend and Dave, the owner, responded to some of my concerns.
I guess demoing them is really the only way I'll decide, but curious to hear what others think about the choice. While I do want to fill the space, sonic quality is more important.
My room is about 24'x15'. Standard ceiling (about 9'). Lots of openings to other rooms and staircase. I also have a new Hsu VTF2 MK5 for the low end so the bass from the mains isn't that important. Currently, my speakers are on 24"stands, about 7' apart and about 8'from me. Pulled about a foot out from wall. I reorganized living room, since I was almost 14' from them before.
I find myself second guessing decisions like this frequently when buying equipment.
