As-eq1 calibrating 4 subs??

What's the best way calibrating 4 subs using the svs as-Eq 1? I've tried 1 in 2 out( not dual discrete ) and running the subs master and slave. On the trim of the as eq-1 I get -2db but on the AVP I get +4db:confused:

When I originally had 2 it was all good but it seems 4 is doing crazy things. I have the 2 subs pos at the front and 2 opposite at the back. I'm scratching my head trying to figure this out I'm even looking at going back to the AVP 3 sub mix.

And ideas??

So are you hooking up the front 2 subs on 1 channel, and the rear 2 subs on channel 2 of the AES-1 ?

I know your pretty anal about the layout here Frank, but are the subs equidistant on the front wall and the back wall... I'm pretty sure that if this is the way you have them hooked up then - both the front or back will equate to a single line source to be EQ'd.

I would contact SVS on this, but don't forget to come back here and post, this is a good learning scenario for people. I stopped looking at the SVS unit knowing I would have 4 subs in the mix and it would not handle the various locations I have in my room - because of the strange layout.

Hey Warpdrv good to hear from you mate:)

When you say equal distance are you meaning from the seating pos?

I'm going to give it one more try tonight and if no success I'm going back to my pre amp

What Gene said. EQ multiple subs as one. After all, that’s they way they sound to your ears.

Already did, cheers:)

I also went back to the AVP one stage and did 3 sub mix and being that the 3 subs(one had master and slave configuration) are at 75db each the bass was strong. I gave that one up pretty quick.

I was curious to why I got different trim levels. I wonder if Gene recieved similar trim levels on his SVS and AVP. I posted this on Audyssey

I have 4 subs 2 at front and two at back. The front run master and slave so does the back( master and slave is where two subs work as one and the master controls the volume etc in both subs). I have them connected 1 input to 2 out. The subs are level matched on the svs 0.0db so is the FL. The final results looked quite good showing a trim at - 2.6db. I then ran the audyssey in the Denon Avp but I my trim level showed +3.5db. Don't get me wrong it sounds great but why such a difference in trim levels?
I was told to use one mic, which I thought it makes sense so I tried with more weired results

With the Svs mic I got a trim level on the SVS -2.5db and on the AVP +6.0db
With the Denon mic I got on the SVS -3.7db and on the AVP +5.5db
Where am I going wrong? I have the mic on the tripod marked out the first position kept the same height also.
I'm curious to know such a boost on the Denon AVP?

I calibrated with the svs audyssey first then with the Denon audyssey on top as recommended.
