Artison/Denon remove center hardware

I've had a Denon AVR -1010 since 1991. I finally updated. The logistical issues were tough. I have vaulted ceilings and literally no place to put any components. The answers are: flat panel, really good electrician, Denon, Artison, Velodyne, lots of mud sand and paint, and cutting a big hole in the wall on the chance there would be room for many components(luckily there was). Here are the pics after the setup rough-in.

Denon AVR-4306 with hdmi 1.1, ethernet, and ipod
Denon DVD-1930ci with 1080p upconverter
Samsung 46" lcd 1080p
Artison Portrait LCR fronts (integrated center)
Artison Sketch LCR rear (integrated center)
Velodyne Minivee 8"
Genesis Universal RF remote

Portraits installed. This was difficult, ask for tips. It involved jigsawing the speaker mounts so I could actually run wires for the TV. Not happy.

Rears in. Waiting on grilles.

Luckily there is space next to the fireplace for a niche. We're building a cabinet to drop into this. There will be a trapdoor behind the receiver for wires, and a trapdoor on the bottom for the sub which will set on the floor below the cabinet. This is ghetto for now until the cabinet is built.

What is unorthodox is the Artison Sketch rears. We really had no place for a center rear so I'm utilizing the integrated center from the Sketch's. They are about 10' apart. I ran 2 4-conductor wires to the rear to accommodate this. These are intended as fronts only and I think I am the first person to try this arrangement. We'll see how it works out.

kenhoeve,

I know this is an old thread but I'm interested in how the Sketchs worked out as rear surrounds.

Thanks,

Bob
