New to the forums and honored to be here. I recently purchased the ARCAM AVR750 to complement my RBH T2/r speakers and my oppo bdp-93 with directv for a satellite receiver. I have had two distinct reactions since owning it for 2 weeks.

1. the sound quality is superb whether it be lightning fast response during home theatre usage or it be brilliantly reproduced music which has been as good as I have heard besides my buddy's Wilson Audio system.
2. the same bugs that kept me from purchasing the 600 are present in my 750. I have brutal handshake issues with the oppo which result with either no picture or no sound or a 2 minute delay before it works. there are random speaker popping and crackling noises when switching to satellite.

lastly the audio changes from dolby digital to off, to back on during tv shows on some channels. this causes 2 second time slots of zero sound. looking for help to get my wife happy with the reliability.

I am connected via HDMI for both sources and using HDMI out to TV.

Well, first of all, you have very nice speakers. :D

I recently sold a few speakers (including Revel Salon2, B&W 802D2, KEF 201/2, & Philharmonic 3) and I'm in the process of getting 5 RBH SX-T2/R speakers. Hopefully will have them soon.

I've also heard about this issue with the Arcam and other AVR. Some firmware updates might fix similar issues, but unfortunately there are no guarantees.

If you can return the Arcam, that may be the best solution. Otherwise, perhaps someone here may have an answer. Good luck!

I have noticed some clicking in my setup(Onkyo receiver) when watching a 5.1 TV program and they go to a commercial that is in stereo(2.0), but it seems to immediately handle it with no loss of audio. Are the HDMI cable connections tight? I know it may be heresy here, but you could try a different HDMI cable, before returning the receiver.

Clicking is due to relays when the sound format changes.
It bothers some people, but I like relays since they are part of a design to keep the signal path clean.
