Hi,

thank you in advance for your insight on the following:

I've heard a pair of vandersteens 2CEs and loved them. The retailer is suggesting a ARCAM AVR 350 (although this was not the receiver driving the speakers at the time of the test) but given the review (see link below) i wonder if their is another AV reciever that would deliver the same sound quality (music first then HT), but with more features for about the same $? am i asking for the world????

It would be very nice if you could keep the same overall topic on one thread.;)

Do you need HDMI for anything?

The arcam avr 350 is the best sounding receiver I have ever heard. I used to have a denon 4306, and the arcam absolutely puts the denon to shame. This is such a great receiver I was willing to live with less features to finally have the sound I want with a receiver (I have limited rack space.)

My speakers are spendor S5e's, C5e, S3e's, sub is velodyne spl-1000r. The arcam has such a natural sound, amazing sound, you def. need to audition one, I think you will see that other receivers don't match up. The only other receiver that was in the same league was the primare SPA21 and its 4000$.

Best of luck, and you should have no regrets about arcam. Check in the arcam forum on avforums.com

Thanks,

Dan
