ARC issue

Problem: Currently own the Onkyo TX-NR608 running to a Samsung H9000 to watch Netflix
"decoded" in the TV and sound is heard through ARC.

When Harmony Ultimate one turns on system to view direct tv (no ARC used) the receiver initially is on cbl/sat an tv has pic. But rcvr then resets itself to tv/cd (normal ARC default) setting and tv has no pic. select cbl sat again and it switches back to cbl/sat and stays.

Question: If I get a Yamaha v677 or Onkyo 636 which have 2 HDMI outputs I can run one HDMI out to HDMI in on tv for ARC and another in for Cable/sat

I am trying to determine that it will probably work before buying anything

Just curious - are your "TV Control" and/or "Power Control" set to "On" with your Onkyo? If so, try turning those off (if you haven't tried all of this already) to see if it will stop switching over to the TV when you turn the receiver and TV on.

TV control was on..once I turned it off NO problems!
