Hey All, picked up the Denon e400 and a set of Emp Teks to go with my Vizio e550. Got everything set up but can't get audio for the smart tv functions (i.e. netflix) to play through the receiver.
The tv supports ARC and I have the ARC HDMI port connected to the Monitor port on the receiver.
Other things such as cable and PS3 work fine for their inputs.
There are just a boat load of problems with ARC and Vizio seems to have disproportionate problems.
If you have not disabled CEC do so. Instructions tell you to keep it on, but often switching it off solves the problem.
It worked for me when I was setting up a Samsung/Marantz interface a year ago with my son for the receiver I bought him for Christmas.
Also make sure ARC is enabled in your receiver.
ARC is basically a mess and does not support loss less audio codecs only Dolby 5.1.
You may not be able to solve this as your source is a Vizio TV. If that is the case then run an optical cable from your TV to your receiver.
Personally return ARC is not a connection I would ever use. The TV is a dumb place to put all these features, they are much better put in peripherals like BD players.
The only control I use on all my TV screens is the on/off button. That is the most trouble free way to keep it.
