ARC (Audio Return Channel)?

I am new to HDMI since I just upgraded my system recently. My Sharp TV has HDMI as an ARC input. It is actually not as good a connection as the other 1.4a connections. What is an ARC? How is it used? How do I take advantage of it? How do I connect the HDMI to get ARC?

It allows audio to be sent back to your receiver via the HDMI cable.

Your receiver and TV must support it. It is largely a nuisance and causes people to make an error in set up. For most systems it should be set to off, or you will have problems.
