I love audio equipment and am in serious competition with my brother in law for the ultimate system.

up till now I believe i was winning, but recently he bought a 7 channel NAD amp and I purchased a used Aragon 8008x3, without knowing much about the product. Can anyone out there fill me in on how well this amp performs. I have hooked it up but havent had a chance to crank it yet, i do know that it gets very hot, is this normal?

I was a previous owner of an 8008x3. Great amp but man does it run hot. IMO, there isn't a NAD amp on the planet that can compete with that Aragon unit. They just don't build them like that anymore.

Do you have any specific questions about it?
I have a 6.1 receiver and wondering where in this system the aragon should go fronts or back, what should i get to power the rest of the system? I want to feel like im front row of a concert, but my budget is around $2000 canadian

Great amp, dont sell it or upgrade past it either, you'll be hard pressed to find a better amp without spending several thousand bucks.

If i were you i'd run my fronts & center from the 8008 & use the internal amps inside the reciever to run the rears,if your rears still need more power or you just want a better amp for the rears you can get an aragon 8002 for the rears,125 wpc @ 8 omms for around $400 to $500 .
