Aquarium and big bass (sound, not the fish)... a problem?

I've got a 50 gal aquarium that will be set up in the same room that my Stereo / HT system will be in. It's a free standing unit, in a corner, a few inches away from the wall.

Not worried about the comfort level of my fish, they'll get over it, but I would hate for that thing to pop and drop 50 gal of water on my floor.

Am I being ridiculous, or should this be a concern?

No seriously, how loud do you paln on playing bass through a subwoofer. The would be the only concerrn , if you have fairly high LFE level, it might slosh the water and cause some stress but there is a good probability that is all that would happen.

I actually find this answer a little disappointing. ;)

If the bass doesn't hit hard enough to squeeze your nostrils shut of make a freshly opened bottle of beer foam up, you should have very little to worry about.

The resonant frequency of the glass, with the dampening of the water in the tank, would have to be extremely loud in order to cause the tank to "pop". The resonant frequency of your tank is probably much above the sub range of frequencies.

I would not worry about it.

cool. as a complete novice, the post truly wasn't composed in an effort to provide a bit of comic relief; although if that was the net result, then all present can thank me later.
