Apple TV HDMI issues

I recent got an Apple TV and was able to successfully connect it and view for a weeks time.

I have connected HDMI from Apple to Game HDMI in and from HDMI out to the TV HDMI.

Everything was working fine and suddenly i get " No signal Detected ".

I suspect my little one has fiddled with the settings on the receiver . I tried to re-do the settings by myself and guess i got no where.

To isolate the HDMI cable issues, i connected each of the individual HDMI cables directly from the ATV ( Apple TV ) to TV - HDMI port and works just fine...

Could anyone post any suggestions to resolve the issue ? Also if you could advise the recommened settings and the website where i can download the receiver manual.

(FYI ....My cable TV and DVD player connected using AV cable is working fine ).

Welcome to the forum! What is the brand and model number of your receiver? You can often download the manuals from the manufacturer websites.

One very common thing to have happen is that a setting on the receiver that tells it which input to look at for a given source (e.g. Apple TV, blu-ray player) gets changed. On some receivers, it's called "Signal Select." The options are along the lines of "Auto," "HDMI," "Digital," and "Analog." The reason that setting exists is because some receivers let you assign input jacks (on the back or front of the unit) to a given source. Check to see if your receiver has that option and if it's been set to "Analog" (or, really, anything beside Auto or HDMI).

Do you have another HDMI source that is working properly, such as a Blu Ray player? Try replacing the HDMI device with the Apple TV and see if the problem follows the Apple.

Dear All, Thank you for your support.
I tried to reset the HDMI settings and i am able to connect the laptop and play videos without any problem.
But when i unplug from the laptop and connect the HDMI cable to Apple TV it does not display on the TV.
The apple TV is a brand new unit ....Could it be a problem with apple TV ?
