Was looking forward to seeing this as I didn't get to at the theater. It was an okay movie but that was all. Acting was good, Ed Harris was quite good (but then again I like most of his stuff), Viggo Mortensen was okay but a very understated character as usual, Renee Zellwegger was the one that more or less stood out the most, and Jeremy Irons was just annoying, don't care for him in much of anything.
The over all story really wasn't much, very predictable, very plain, nothing special there at all. The scenery was the best part of the movie?
PQ was good and sound good, run fire was better than most.
If you really are a collector of Westerns get it but overall just a rental.

Hey guys, I was also really looking forward to Appaloosa and was kinda dis-appointed. I thought Vigo Mortensen's character was incredible but under utilized. Ed Harris was his usual self, incredible. Overall the movie was OK but seemed to lose direction and focus.

Anyway, still worth a watch if you are a Ed Harris or western fan!

My two cents,
Lane

Was the sound as good as "Open Range"?....

I didn't feel the movie was any where near as good as Open Range in story or audio.
