Has anyone tried out the Amperion Audio Intimus 634-VAC Center Channel Speaker and Intimus 633T Tower Speaker L/R mains combination?

I was thinking of auditioning that setup and wondered if anyone else already did it so I could be aware of any possible short-comings.

Thanks to a great community.

I haven't heard the 633Ts or 634VAC. I do own the 533Ts and a 534VAC. I'm very pleased with the sound quality. The build is also excellent.

My setup is used mainly for music, when I'm using it, and movies. My wife tends to watch a lot of TV. Her ears are less than...umm...useful in this case. If it were up to her, we'd still be using the Sony HTiB speakers. She hears no difference.

If you're considering the 633 series, you might as well just order them. Their costumer service is excellent and if you decide not to keep them within 30 days you can send them back at no cost.

I say "Go for it!"

The Aperion Intimus 533-PT (built-in 150 watts subwoofer) seems very interesting to me.

Like pzaur, I own the 532s and a 534 VAC and am happy with the sound quality of these speakers. My setup is mostly movies.

I have a pair of 633 LR Towers, but not the super nice center, its just too big. My system is in my siggy file. I REALLY like the Aperions, and some would call me the "Aperion Fanboy" around here, so be it. And I'm just a customer.

Aperion Audio offers the following redeeming features:

1" Hi Density Fiberboard construction, vs. many companies only use 3/4" Medium Density Fiberboard.

30 day audition with shipping BOTH ways if your not happy.

One year Trade in / Trade up deal. Just keep the packing boxes and you can trade, say the 533 LR's up to 633 LR's with full credit on the 533's. Who else does that?

The Piano Black is to behold, simply awesome. I hear the same thing about the Cherry looking more like furniture than speakers.

And the customer support is awesome. Very friendly.

As far as sound goes, at first I thought they were a little bright on the top end, but I cranked them up to reference level for over an hour, and had zero listening fatigue. I'm a bass nut, so I crossed mine over at 80 hz, and set my big Hsu by ear for a "warm" bottom end. During that hour, my remastered Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" sounded insanely good.

I also have played Rock, Heavy Metal, smooth R&B, new country, and 80's country off the Satellite Dish (XM) and they sound great. Only thing I have not played is rap. I'm very very satisfied with my system, and everybody that hears it comments on the sound quality.

Bottom line: Buy any Aperion speaker and try them out. You've nothing to loose.

Sounds like a winner to me!

If only every company were like this!

If only Emotiva offered the Free Return Shipping.:)

I can't comment on the specific ones you asked about, but I've got the 632 bookshelfs that sound great, as well as all the 500 series I use for the rest of my 7.1 setup. I think Aperion gets overlooked here for whatever reason.

I'll throw in my Aperion great customer service story. I convinced my dad to buy their 400 series speakers for his new 5.1 setup this past Christmas. They sent him everything in that gorgeous piano black, just like he asked. Unfortunately, they were backordered on the 422C center speaker. Aperion called him up told him this, and offered to send him a loaner 532C in black or the 422C in cherry, which they'd pay to have shipped both ways and he could keep until the black 422C came in. Or he could keep the 532C at a discount if he decided he liked it better once the 422 came in. What other company does that? None that I know of. He ended up getting the 422 (the 532 was too big) in cherry, which looks fantastic, not like cheap laminate, and really matches the genuine cherry wood accents they have in the room and is still waiting on the replacement.

Cheers,

Kevin

If you happen to live in the Portland area, you could go to the warehouse. The sell B-stock there and welcome walk-ins to hear their products. Aperion also has an "auction" of returns once or twice a year, I believe...

I really like my 533Ts with the 534VAC. Very nice, very nice...
