hey guys,

i'm definitely a novice. been reading reviews here and there. also went to a local home theatre store. basically, i have about $3,000 that i can spend for a home theatre set-up for my retired parents. they are moving into a room about 20 feet by 25 feet with a two-story ceiling of about 20 feet.

i'm debating between the Paradigm Monitor 7 speakers with center, surround speakers, and a Paradigm 12" sub

OR

The Aperion Intimus 633 tower speakers with center, surround, and their 12" sub.

Both come out to about $2600 or so. I'm looking to get the Marantz SR5001 receiver for about $700.

WHICH SET-UP would you recommend? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Matt

I am sorry to answer your question this way, but for a 3k speaker budget, Monitor Audio Silver RS Series is the way to go.

Also, there is no reason to have to pay retail for a receiver. Even if you want to buy locally, there is just no reason.

Speaker Demo

Aperion and AV123.com have risk free return policies on their bookshelf speakers. You might consider a demo vs. the Paradigm Mini Monitors. Both companies also include real wood veneer vs. the vinyl on the paradigms.
