anyone with a onkyo 805 HELP!!

I read something in a review on using Audyssey EQ, the result was that the overall sound level was much quieter. Can you do an A/B comparison to check the decibel level with Audyssey set up and with out?

This receiver is THX rated and should blow the doors off of your old receiver.

I will try that tonight and i think that is it as well. I do like the sound of this receiver for sure it sounds alot more natural. I will post the results tommorrow

Have been messing with my 805 for a couple weeks now.........and have found the exact same thing. My old 705 was louder, but when i shut off the audyssay, it picks up quite a bit. Am a relative newbie, and havent looked at crossover on speakers, but was going to learn about that next, as i have tried everything else i can think of. have the eq on manual now, only because of this issue.
